Abou-Treika will be ready for Angola 2010

Egypt and Ahli playmaker Mohamed Abou-Treika stressed that he would be able to feature for the Pharaohs in the 2010 African Cup of Nations in January.

It was reported that the 31-year-old suffered a foot fracture that will keep him on the sidelines for more than two months, which cast doubts over his chances of playing at the biennial competition.

However, Ahli superstar Abou-Treik is confident that he will be fit to make the squad for the African Cup of Nations.

“I will be sidelined only for six weeks, not eight as Ahli’s medical staff announced,” he told the Cairo club’s official website.

Abou-Treik also played down suggestions that he would hang up his boots soon.

“I have no intention of retiring whatsoever,” he explained.

“Football is all I think about and I’m determined to play at the African Cup of Nations.”
