Under-20 midfielder Ahmad ‘Manga’ Nabil gets his first call-up for the top African competition and will make the trip with the six-time African champions.

The team will leave Egypt on Monday night to join the seven international players who have remained in Johannesburg after playing with the Pharaohs against South Africa in the African qualifier last Saturday.

Jose will have to do without two key players, as Mohamed Barakat is serving a two-match ban since receiving a red card against Esperance in the CAF Champions League semi-final last year, while international striker Emad Meteb has sustained a broken rib.

Ahly got a comfortable lead in Cairo after beating SuperSport 2-0 but they have to finish the job in Johannesburg.

Ahly’s squad:

Goalkeepers: Ahmed Adel Abdel-Moneam, Mahmoud Aboul-Seoud

Defenders: Wael Gomaa, Sherif Abdel-Fadil, Mohamed Samir, Hossam Ghaly, Sayed Moawad, Ahmad Al-Sayed, Ayman Ashraf

Midfielders: Ahmed Fathy, Moataz Eno, Mohamad Shawqy, Ahmed Shoukry, Mohamed Abou-Treika, Hossam Ashour Ahmad ‘Manga’ Nabil

Strikers: Mohmed ‘Gedo’ Nag
