Zamalek dropped two important points after being held to a goalless draw by El Gaish on Monday.
The draw will set the Egyptian Premier League on fire. Ahly, who are chasing a seventh consecutive league win, can move two points clear at the top if they beat ENPPI on Tuesday.
El Gaish moved up with 31 points on 10th place.
