Egypt Olympic team coach Hany Ramzy gave credit Sunday to his team’s goalkeeper, Ahmed El-Shennawy, for the 2-0 victory over South Africa in the U-23 African Championship on Saturday.
“I was worried when at the end of the first half we finished with a goalless draw,” Ramzy said to Modern Kora TV.
Egypt edged closer to ending their long wait for an Olympic appearance after beating South Africa 2-0 on Saturday to qualify for the U-23 African Championship semi final in Morocco.
“The players did their best at the beginning of the second half and edged to sign the first goal quickly” he added.
