Emad Meteb, Abou-Treika and Ahmed Fathi will join Egypt’s Olympic squad in London.
Egypt’s Olympic coach, Hany Ramzy, has reached an agreement with Ahly’s manager, Hossam El-Badry, to allow the Red Devils trio of Emad Meteb, Mohamed Abou-Treika, and Ahmed Fathi to join the squad that will fly to France on Wednesday.
Under the helm of coach Ramzy, the team will play two friendlies in France against Gabon and Honduras on 16 and 19 July in preparation for the 2012 London Games.
“Al Ahly coach Hossam El-Badry revealed his support for the Olympic team during a meeting last week,” Olympic squad assistant coach Tarek El-Said told an Egyptian Newspaper.
“We agreed to allow Meteb, Fathi and Abou-Treika to join the Olympic squad after Ahly face Mazembe in the CAF Champions League on Sunday” he added.
“Al Ahly’s trio will join the Olympic squad again to take part in the London Games this July,” he concluded.
