Ekramy & Ashour could miss Monterrey’s game

Ahly’s doctor Ihab Ali revealed on Thursday that the Red Devils’ goalkeeper Sherif Ekramy and defense midfielder Hossam Ashour could miss the game against Monterrey in the third-place play-off of the Club World Cup’s on Sunday.

Ekramy sustained a hamstring strain during Ahly’s 1-0 loss to Corinthians in the Club World Cup semis, and he was replaced by Mahmoud Abul-Seoud, while Ashour suffers from a pelvis injury. Ashour’s absence could be a problem for coach Hossam El-Badry who has already lost defensive midfielder Hossam Ghaly because of a serious knee injury.

Ekramy’s chances of playing against Monterrey are 50 percent while Ashour has more chances than Ekramy as his injury is not serious,” Ahly’s doctor told the club’s official website on Thursday. “The final decision will be made after Saturday’s training”
