Zamalek will be eyeing Group A top spot when they visit DR Congo’s TP Mazembe in the Champions League on Sunday.
After Sudan’s Hilal were held to a 1-1 home draw by Congo’s Vita Club on Friday, the third-placed Zamalek have a chance to move to the top of the table with an away win in Lubumbashi.
Mazembe, however, will be no pushovers on their home turf, with Zamalek – who beat Hilal 2-1 at home after opening their group with a 2-1 defeat at Vita Club – yet to claim a win at the DR Congo side.
Mazembe, who are level on three points with Zamalek, are also not expected to give away the chance to beat their Egyptian rivals, who lost their last two meetings with the four-time African champions.
