Hector Cuper announced the 25-man squad for Egypt’ clash against Tanzania in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers scheduled for 4 June 2016.

The 25-man squad is as followed:

Essam El Hadary

Goalkeepers: Essam El-Hadary (Wadi Degla), Sherif Ekrami (Ahly) and Ahmed El-Shennawy (Zamalek)

Abdel Shafi

Defenders: Ahmed Fathi (Ahly), Mohamed Abdel-Shafy (Saudi Ahly), Hazem Emam (Zamalek), Ahmed Hegazy (Ahly), Rami Rabia (Ahly), Sabry Rahil (Ahly), Ali Gabr (Zamalek), Ayman Ashraf (Smouha), Hamada Tolba (Zamalek) and Karim Hafez (Omonia)

Mohamed Elneny

The Pharaohs are supposed to meet on Thursday to kick-off their training camp.

They cancelled a friendly against DR Congo that was scheduled on the 29th of this month.

Egypt, who are on the verge of reaching the Nations Cup for the first time since 2010, need to avoid a 4-0 loss when they face Tanzania away to secure their place in next year’s continental competition.

The seven-time African champions are leading group G with seven points, five ahead of second-placed Nigeria and six clear of third-placed Tanzania.
