Amr Warda joins PAOK from fellow Greek side Panetolikos

Egyptian international winger Amr Warda signed a three-and-a-half year deal with PAOK, the Greek side announced on Tuesday.

“Warda is a player with high technique, speed and ability to offer either goals or assists,” PAOK said on their official website.

“His arrival is the continuation of the club’s tradition to sign players from Egypt.”

Warda joins from fellow Greek side Panetolikos to become the seventh Egyptian to play for PAOK after former Egyptian internationals Magdi Tolba, Hossam and Ibrahim Hassan, Abdel-Satar Sabri, Mahmoud Shikabala and Amir Azmy.

The 23-year-old came through the youth ranks of Cairo giants Ahly before moving to Alexandria-based club Ittihad on a season-long loan in 2014.

He then joined Panetolikos in the summer of 2015 on a free transfer and was called up by Egypt coach Hector Cuper for the African Cup of Nations in Gabon.

Warda was kept on the bench in the opening 0-0 draw with Mali before playing the last 20 minutes of Saturday’s 1-0 win over Uganda in Group D.
