Mo Salah arrived in Spain this morning for treatment on his injured left shoulder with the Egyptian federation confirming the 25-year-old was in “high spirits” and “determined to return quickly to the ranks of the team”.

Spain was chosen by Liverpool’s medical staff to continue the treatment programme that started in England on Sunday

He will receive treatment on the continent accompanied by the president of the Egyptian federation, the national team doctor and Liverpool medics.

Scans revealed that Salah will need three weeks of treatment to recover from sprained ligaments in his shoulder and, therefore would be available for the world most prestigious competition.

Salah will remain in Spain with his doctors until he rejoins Egypt’s squad in Cairo ahead of travelling to Russia.
