Mohamed Salah nominated for FIFA Best player award

Egyptian national team & Liverpool FC winger Mohamed Salah has been shortlisted in the final list of the Best FIFA Men’s Player Award alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and Luka Modric, FIFA football’s world governing body, on Monday.

Ronaldo was the competition’s top scorer in lifting a fourth Champions League title in five years before heading to Juventus in July.

Modric was also part of that Madrid side that has dominated the Champions League in recent years and won the Golden Ball for the best player at the World Cup for leading Croatia to the final.

The midfielder was named UEFA’s Player of the Year ahead of Mo Salah & Ronaldo and Salah on Aug 30.

Salah arrived in England from Roma last summer for a fee of around £39 million. He gained the admiration of fans around the world after scoring 44 goals in 52 appearances, the second-best record in the club’s history.

The striker’s impact was felt immediately, taking the club all the way to the Uefa Champions League final in Kiev against Real Madrid.

Egypt’s Salah led Liverpool’s remarkable run to the final with 10 goals and four assists, while Barcelona talisman Messi netted six goals.

Salah scored 32 goals in the English Premier League check out the Betting Odds at  Novibet online betting , earning the Egyptian the Golden Boot award for top scorer. He was also voted the Liverpool’s player of the season and won both the PFA and football writers’ awards.

Salah’s World Cup was short lived. After sustaining a shoulder injury in the first minutes of the Champions League final, the Egyptian was on the bench for their first game.

The striker played in two of the games and scored 2 goal, but his World Cup campaign was cut short after Egypt failed to qualify for the last 16, finishing bottom on Group A with no points.
