Javier Aguirre calls up 12 foreign-based players for Swaziland Match

Egypt’s coach Javier Aguirre has called up 12 overseas-based players for the Pharaohs’ game against Swaziland in the 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifiers, scheduled for 12 October.

The Pharaohs’ squad has had to bear with the absence of injured winger Ramadan Sobhi, who plays for Huddersfield Town in the English Premier League. Moreover Ahly Jeddah attacking midfielder Abdalla El-Said and left-back Mohamed Abdel-Shafi are also out due to injuries.

Under the helm of Aguirre, Egypt has returned to its winning ways after smashing Niger 6-0 in the second round of the Group J games in the 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifiers (CAN 2019).

Egypt will face Swaziland in a double header next month, with the first match taking place in Cairo on 12 October.

Egypt lies second in Group J of the African Cup qualifiers with three points, three behind leaders Tunisia.

The top two will play at next year’s finals in Cameroon.
