Zamalek fly to Angola without Key player Mahmoud Kahraba

The Zamalek squad was absent several key players when they flew to Angola on Friday ahead of a crucial game against Petro Atletico in the fourth round of the CAF Confederation Cup group stage.

The Cairo giants’ route to the quarterfinals is in jeopardy as they remain winless, with two draws and a defeat in their first three matches of Group D.

As a result, they are at the bottom of the group with two points, two behind NA Hussein Dey and Petro Atletico and four adrift of leaders Gor Mahia of Kenya.

Moreover, the White Knights will face a tough mission when they visit Petro Atletico on Sunday, after the two sides drew 1-1 in Egypt last week.

Zamalek will have to do without the services of suspended duo winger Mahmoud Kahraba and midfielder Tarek Hamed, as well as injured defender Mahmoud Alaa.

They must win the game in order to remain in Africa’s secondary club competition.
