Pyramids FC appoint Egyptian football Legend Hossam Hassan as new coach

Egyptian Premier League side Pyramids FC announced on Monday that coach Hossam Hassan will succeed Argentinean manager Ricardo La Volpe as the team’s coach.

“Pyramids are announcing the appointment of Hossam Hassan as team’s new coach and Ibrahim Hassan as football director,” the club said on their official Twitter account on Monday.

Hassan resigned from his post as Masry coach earlier on Monday.

The 52-year-old is the third coach of the big-spending club so far, after La Volpe and Brazilian Alberto Valentim.

The former Zamalek coach took charge of Masry in the summer of 2015, helping the club reach the Egypt Cup final in 2016 before losing to Ahly 2-1.

He guided the Port-Said-based club to the Confederation Cup semi-finals, but they failed to reach the final after losing to Congolese side Vita Club 4-0 on aggregate earlier this month.

Pyramids are fourth on the league table with 16 points from nine matches, two points behind leaders El-Entag El-Harby, who played two matches more.
