Pyramids FC sack manager Hossam Hassan after three months in charge

The chairman of Egyptian Premier League club Pyramids Turki Al-Sheikh has announced the departure of coach Hossam Hassan after the 3-3 draw with leaders Zamalek on Thursday.

“I will hold a meeting with Hossam El-Badri (the club’s president), Ahmed Hassan (the club’s spokesman) and a number of players to prepare for the coming stage,” Al-Sheikh wrote on his official Facebook page.

“We will choose a new technical staff,” the club’s chairman added.

The big-spending side played out a 3-3 draw with Zamalek in a postponed game from the ninth matchday of the Egyptian Premier League on Thursday.

“We will hire a big international coach who has managed teams and national teams as we have three choices that we will choose from,” Al-Sheikh added.

Tactician Hossam Hassan, 52, took charge of Pyramids FC last October, succeeding Argentinean manager Ricardo La Volpe as the team’s coach.

Pyramids FC, who are second in the Egyptian Premier League team table with 39 points, will face El-Dakhleya on 4 February on the 21st matchday of the Egyptian Premier League.
