Nigeria’s coach Gernot Rohr has named his 23-man squad to face Egypt

Nigeria head coach Gernot Rohr has named his 23-man squad to face Seychelles for their final 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier and a friendly against Egypt with several high profile omissions.

Rohr has handed maiden call-ups to uncapped striker Paul Onuachu and under-20 defender Valentine Ozornwafor, while there is a recall for former U-17 World Cup winner Victor Osimhen.

However, there is no place for captain John Obi Mikel, who’s been earning rave reviews for his displays in the N-Power Championship with promotion-chasing Middlesborough.

Former Chelsea teammate Victor Moses and Leicester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho has also failed to earn returns to the squad.

The Super Eagles will face Seychelles in their last game of the 2019 AFCON qualifiers and Egypt in a friendly game on 22 and 26 March respectively.
