Egypt’s newly-signed national football team coach Hossam El-Badry has called up six foreign-based players, currently overseas, including Liverpool star Mohamed Salah, for the upcoming 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Kenya and Comoros.

The Pharaohs will be hosting Kenya on 14 November in the first official match under El-Badry before flying to face Comoros four days later.

“The technical staff chose six players for the preparatory camp ahead of facing Kenya and Comoros. They will join the camp on 11 November; just three days ahead of the Kenya game,” read a statement by the Egyptian football Association (EFA) late on Friday.

The called-up foreign-based players list includes Liverpool’s winger Mohamed Salah who was rested by El-Badry in his first test with the Pharaohs; beating Botswana 1-0 in a friendly on 14 October, you can also try your luck winning some extra cash on online slots.

Former Zamalek Winger Mahmoud “Kahraba” Abdel-Moneim, who currently plays for Portuguese side Das Aves was also called up to rejoin the national team for the first time since his last appearance in the 2018 World Cup.

The other four called up players are: Mahmoud ‘Trezeguet’ Hassan (Aston Villa), Ahmed ‘Kouka’ Hassan (SC Braga), Mohamed Elneny (Besiktas), and Ahmed Hegazi (West Bromwich).

According to the EFA statement, the technical staff settled on 32 players to join a preliminary list for the upcoming camp, that will kick off within days, adding that the final squad for the Kenya and Comoros tests will be decided later.

“Ahead of Kenya match, any player could be omitted from the final squad,” the statement concluded.

Egypt are competing in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers alongside the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

The former Ahly player and coach El-Badry is the first Egyptian manager in Egypt’s hot seat in four years following Argentinean tactician Hector Cuper (2015-2018) and Javier Aguirre (2018-2019).
