Ahmed Eid smacked down Algeria’s technical staff with a kung fu-style kick in the Military Games final as Egypt lost to Algeria 1-0.
“The goalkeeping coach of Algeria was the one who assaulted me first,” Eid said
“I refuse to be the scapegoat for what happened because the Algerian players are the real culprits. They repeatedly insulted us, especially at halftime. I initially controlled my temper but I’m a human being, I couldn’t bear such insults.
“After the match, a member of Algeria’s technical staff shoved me in front of the referee, who tried to drag him away. I then involuntarily rushed towards him and kicked him.”
“I accept any sort of punishment but I just want those who talk about me badly to understand what did really happen,”
