Will West Brom Star Hegazi Move to Saudi’s Ittihad?

West Bromwich Egyptian defender Ahmed Hegazi is reportedly on the verge of leaving the English Premier League team to join Saudi Arabia’s, Jeddah based, Al-Ittihad during the summer transfer window.

Reports in Saudi newspapers revealed Sunday that Al-Ittihad have reached an agreement with West Bromwich to get the services of the towering defender for one season on loan, with an option to be permanent.

The 29-year-old international defender played his first match of this Premier League’s season on Monday when he played a full 90 minutes that resulted in a goalless draw at Burnley.

The former Fiorentina, Perugia, and El-Ahly defender joined West Brom in 2017; since then he has played 104 matches, netting four goals and providing two assists.

Hegazi played a vital role in helping West Brom earn a promotion to the top flight last season.

Al-Ittihad finished in 10th place in the last season of the Saudi league; the new season started two weeks ago.
