Gamal Hamza departure explained!

Ahli manager Hossam Al-Badri revealed that striker Gamal Hamza decided to leave the club because he felt there was too much competition for a first-team place.

Hamza, who signed from Gouna this summer, suddenly rescinded his contract with the Red Devils, citing his imminent exclusion from the Champions League squad as the main reason behind the decision.

Reports of a rift with the manager and a team member were mentioned, but Al-Badri was quick to refute the rumors and explain the situation.

“I am astonished with the invented stories about Hamza’s exit,” the Ahli boss told the club’s official site.

“Hamza felt it was difficult for him to compete for a place in the first team, so he made his decision.

“The Champions League list is not the only reason as well because we aren’t decided on our selection yet.

“Hamza was extremely committed and didn’t cause any problem during his stay with us, but it seems that some people didn’t like to see a player leave in a respectful way.”

Al-Badri, who already has Mohamed Fadl, Francis Doe, Osama Hosni and new signing Geddo at his disposal, recently revealed he is still in search of another striker to add to his roster.
