Ibrahim Adel netted twice to help Pyramids FC to a 4-1 comeback win over Nigerian side Enyimba in the first leg of the Confederation Cup quarters at the Air Defense stadium on Sunday.

The 20-year-old forward – who replaced out-of-form striker John Antwi just after the break – scored twice and provided another goal, giving his side a comfortable first-leg advantage before next week’s return leg in Aba.

Ramadan Sobhi canceled in the 15thminute an early opener from Nbaoma Chukwuma while veteran playmaker Abdallah El-Said made it 2-1, four minutes after the break and Adel completed the rout on minutes 58 and 66 respectively.

Enyimba were off to a stunning start as they got in the lead after just 53 seconds courtesy to a blunder by keeper Sherif Ekrami.

The veteran keeper tried to round Nbaoma inside the area but the Nigerian striker robbed him to score in an empty net.

Winger Ramadan Sobhi leveled the score after 14 minutes when he dispossessed the last defender, rounded the keeper to score also in an empty net.

Pyramids FC were on the offense but Ghanaian striker John Antwi failed to make any impact squandering many chances.

Argentinean boss Rodolfo Arruabarrena had to take him off introducing Ibrahim Adel at the break.

The 20-year-old needed only four minutes to make his presence felt. He fed El-Said on the left side of the area whose curling shot went into the bottom of the net of the Nigerian side.

The youth forward turned from provider to scorer as he added the third with a wonderful bicycle kick in the 58th minute before adding the fourth eight minutes later from point-blank.
