Will Anyone Beat Ronaldo Euro 2021 Goals Tally

Ronaldo is still considered the frontrunner to win the Golden Boot for Euro 2020. Even though Portugal’s Euro campaign only lasted four games, and therefore failed to advance beyond the last 16 in the tournament, the No. 7 is still in contention for the Golden Boot Award.

His main rivals to win the Golden Boot award are Harry Kane and Raheem Sterling, but they will need to bang the goals in over the next couple of games if they are going to overtake him.

After netting twice against France, twice against Germany, and once against Hungary in the first round of the Euro tournament, Ronaldo has five goals to his credit. Kunoslav Plavsl of the Czech Republic also scored five goals, However, Ronaldo has a better chance of winning the Golden Boot than Kunoslav Plavsl since he had one assist in the game against Germany, providing the assist for Diogo Jota’s goal.

With Cristiano Ronaldo and Schick looking forward to the remaining Euro 2020 matches from afar, it seems like both are feeling optimistic about the tournament. The four-goal scorers also include Belgium’s Romelu Lukaku, France’s Karim Benzema, and Sweden’s Emil Forsberg. Bookmakers are still taking bets on Ronaldo winning the Golden Boot and there is a special bwin welcome offer available that will boost your odds and get the best welcome offer.

Golden Boot

Of the players with three goals, England’s Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane are still alive in the tournament, as is Denmark’s Kasper Dolberg, who currently has two goals to his name. They could, therefore, find the net enough times to overtake Ronaldo by the end of the tournament, especially as at least one of those three will be playing in the final. Kane is the bookies’ favorite out of the three to catch Ronaldo priced at 8/1 while Sterling is priced at 9/1 and Dolberg at 33/1.

Harry Kane is the biggest threat as he has just found form and is the best striker in the competition. He and Sterling currently have 3 goals each, so if they can get a couple of goals in the semi-final they will catch Ronaldo and will need just 1 more goal in the final if they get through to win the award.

On the other hand, Italy poses little threat to winning the Golden Boot. As of the 2016 UEFA European Under-21 Championship, Manuel Locatelli is the team’s leading goal scorer, having netted two goals in the tournament. He just has to score four goals in the last game to do this.

Despite not having a single knockout goal to his credit, Ronaldo is still the leading Golden Boot scorer for the Euros. He has won so many individual awards in his career but has never claimed this honor before. If he hangs on, the 2020 Euro Golden Boot will be the next award to add to his outstanding list of accomplishments. Harry Kane, however, is a goals machine and if England does make it to the final, my money would be on him getting enough goals to win the award.
