Egyptian National Team will play Kenya, Niger & Congo in Qatar

Egypt is scheduled to play Kenya on 27 February, Niger on 29 and Congo on 2 March. The training camp was initially due to be held in Cairo but was called off for security reasons.

It has been reported that the former USA coach had threatened to resign unless his team was provided with a training camp abroad in the run-up to next year’s tournament.
The Egyptian Football Association sponsor reached an agreement to set up a training camp in Qatar for the national team starting (today) 25 February.

The current Egypt squad mainly comprises new faces as Al Ahly players have been left out following the tragic events that marred their last league game at Masry.

The Pharaohs, who had their CAN 2013 qualifier with Central African Republic postponed due to the Port-Said disaster, will play four competitive games in June.
