Egyptian side Pyramids FC secured their place in the Confederation Cup group stage after defeating Ivorian side Racing Club 2-0 in the second leg of the competition’s play-off at Cairo’s Air Defence stadium on Sunday.

Pyramids also won last week’s first leg in Abidjan with the same scoreline to progress with a comprehensive 4-0 aggregate win.

Pyramids reached the Confederation Cup final last season on their maiden appearance in Africa’s secondary club competition, only to lose 1-0 to Morocco’s RS Berkane.
