Liverpool: Rebuilding for a new season

Just under a month remaining until the new English Premier League season kicks off. Teams have already started with their pre-season friendlies. There have been many speculations going on about players moving in and out of the clubs. Needless to say, the summer transfer window can turn out to be a very interesting one when it comes to players joining the premier league sides.

Speaking of players leaving the clubs, Mo Salah has made a few headlines linking him with a move away from Liverpool as he ponders on a life outside of England. While speaking to a well reputed newspaper, Mo Salah gave away a few hints when asked about his future at the club, here is a better hint to have some fun and make extra cash online check out Online blackjack they give you the chance to play this table game very easily.

He said, “It’s not up to me. We’ll see what happens but I prefer not to talk about that right now”.

He also has not ruled out playing in Spain while saying: “I hope to be able to play for many more years. So, why not? No one knows what’s going to happen in the future, so maybe one day, yes”

Liverpool has also been thinking it over when it comes to Mohamed Salah. A 29 year old who is arguably at the peak of his career. But since his contract runs out in 2023, it could give Liverpool problems as giving him a newer contract will keep him at Liverpool until 2025. And that might not be the ideal scenario when he leaves the club with less transfer money coming in. So it could go down as a financial decision for the club rather than deciding over how important he is for the team.

Having already lost an important player in midfield as Georginio Wijnaldum made his move permanent to PSG. They will now be reluctant to sell another, arguably their most important player in the same transfer window.

Mohamed Salah

Salah has been in good form recently, bagging 22 goals in 20/21 premier league season, even though Liverpool’s form has dipped greatly. So, it would show a great intent to go on and win more silverware if Liverpool decides to keep Mohammad Salah rather than cashing in a huge transfer fee in this window.

Liverpool have also been preparing for the new season with some new recruitments in defense. Since injuries to Virgil Van Dijk and Joe Gomes, their first choice center back pairing, Liverpool have been caught lacking many times in defense. Ibrahima Konaté can be the answer to their problems as the French defender joins Liverpool.

With a weakened midfield this time around with Wijnaldum leaving and Henderson and Milner moving into their 30’s. It would be a resounding task to recruit a good technical young midfielder to replace Wijnaldum in the current market.

Liverpool have quite a few problems to solve if they want to go on and win any silverware this season. With Van Dijk coming back into the squad, it would certainly give the defence a huge boost. But would that be enough for 6 time European champions? We will have to wait and see.
