Walter Bwalya Saves Al Ahly against El-Entag | VIDEO

Al Ahly striker Walter Bwalya helped Al Ahly earn a 3-2 win over bottom side El-Entag El-Harby in a rescheduled league game at El-Salam stadium on Sunday.

The Zambian striker, who joined Al Ahly last January, rescued the Red Devils from dropping two precious points in their league title race with Zamalek.

Al Ahly are now second in the league table with 55 points, six points behind leaders Zamalek, who have played two games more.

Early on, Marwan Mohsen gained a penalty after a foul inside the area from Entag Keeper Ahmed Yehya who failed to collect the ball and boxed Mohsen’s head instead.

Tunisian fullback Ali Maaloul converted the penalty in the 38th minute to open the scoring for Al Ahly.

The second half saw the hosts level the scoring nine minutes after the break when fullback Mohamed Tarek Abou El-Ez eased past his challenger before firing home. Ten minutes later, El-Intag’s Mostafa El-Badri skipped his marker Badr Banoun to go clear and add the second.

Stunned by El-Intag lead, Al Ahly players appeared demoralized. Then, Al Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane pushed the attack, introducing strikers Mohamed Sherif and Walter Bwalya to put put more pressure on Intag defense.

Hussein El-Shahat scored the equaliser with five minutes remaining after receiving a nice pass from Amr El-Soulaya.

In stoppage time Bwalya met a pinpoint cross from Ali Maaloul with a nice header to score the winner.

Bwalya’s goal is the first for the Zambian striker with Al Ahly since joining the club in January.
