Zamalek beats El Mahalla 3-0 in the Egyptian League

Zamalek defeated Ghazl El Mahalla 3-0 in the postponed game from the 28th matchday of the Egyptian Premier League on Saturday.

The Whites started the game with big ambitions, needing the victory to stay in the running for the league’s title, and they succeeded in dominating their foes from the start.

The Cairo giants only needed 24 minutes to open the score when winger Ahmed El Sayed Zizo scored the first goal from a penalty kick.

Tunisian forward Seifeddine Jaziri headed in the second goal for Zamalek seven minutes before the break, after receiving a brilliant pass from left winger Acharaf Bencharki, amid an absent El Mahalla defence.

Moroccan winger Acharaf Bencharki snatched the third goal after receiving a pass from Jaziri, letting the team go to the locker room in relief with such a big lead over their opponents.

Zamalek’s coach Patrice Carteron called on longtime out-of-action Ayman Hefny to come on as a substitute for Mahmoud “Shikabala” Abdel-Razek in the 68th minute of the game.

The Nile Delta-based club, Mahalla, did their best to score in the second half as they made more changes in the starting lineup, but their efforts were cut short by Zamalek’s defence.

Ghazl El Mahalla are in 13th place in the league’s table with 32 points after playing 28 games so far this season.
