Marcello Lippi wants to coach the Egyptian National Team

Marcello Lippi, Egypt

After Portuguese coach Nelo Vingada snobs Egypt to coach the Chinese national team, former Italian coach Marcello Lippi  showed his interest in coaching the Pharaohs according to the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) president Samir Zaher.

Marcello Lippi is a former Italian World Cup-winning football manager and former player. He served as Italian national team head coach from 16 July 2004 to 12 July 2006 and led Italy to win the 2006 FIFA World Cup.

Marcello Lippi will be a great boost to Egyptian Football, and will have an impact on the players as well.

Shehata was sacked from leading Egypt after failing to qualify for the 2012 African Cup of Nations following a goalless draw at home to South Africa last June.

The Pharaohs are at the bottom of Group C with two points from four games and they still have two meaningless matches in hand against Sierra Leone and Niger.
