Egypt vs Tunisia | February 10th 2012 | Friendly match

Egypt will play a friendly match with Tunisia celebrating the anniversary of their revolutions, the Egyptian football association (EFA) announced on Tuesday.

“EFA president Samir Zaher reached an agreement with his Tunisian counterpart, Tarek Ziab, to play a friendly match between the two countries on the 10 February in Cairo amid the celebrations in both countries for their revolutions,” EFA revealed in a statement on its official website.

Uprisings in both North African countries succeeded in toppling their presidents. Former Tunisian president Zine Al Abidine Ben Ali escaped to Saudi Arabia in December, while Hosni Mubarak stepped down on 11 February following mass protests that began on 25 January.

The last game between Egypt and Tunisia was in 2005 at Cairo stadium, when the Pharaohs lost 2-1 to their visitors.

Seven-time Africa’s champions, Egypt, is supposed to play two friendlies against Botswana and Kenya in February as part of the preparations for 2013 African Cup of Nations qualifiers which kick off against Central African Republic later the same month.
