Egypt 14th in FIFA ranking | March 2010

African champions Egypt moved three positions up the monthly FIFA ranking for national teams to lie in 14th place.
Despite a 3-1 friendly defeat in England earlier this month, the Pharaohs progressed to maintain their continental and regional supremacy.

Ahli veteran Ahmed Hassan expressed his dismay at Zamalek’s recent implications that some Egyptian league teams use performance-enhancing drugs.
Zamalek issued an official request to the Egyptian FA asking for an accurate assessment for doping tests, for the sake of ‘fair competition’.

An electric fire caused Essam Al-Hadary’s house to be badly damaged but no one was hurt.
The Egypt and Ismaily goalie wasn’t at home when the apartment caught alight.
His wife, son and one of his three daughters were there but all vacated the building on time and now are understood to be safe and sound.
