Zamalek 2-0 Aswan | Match Highlights | Egyptian League

Zamalek defeated newcomers Aswan 2-0 at Cairo Stadium to end a three-match winless streak in the Egyptian league on Thursday.

Striker Mostafa Mohamed opened the scoring in the 42nd minute, while winger Ahmed “Zizo” El-Sayed doubled the lead two minutes after the hour-mark.

Zamalek had to finish the game with only ten men on the pitch as international midfielder Tarek Hamed received his marching orders in the 58th minute.

The result lifts the Whites to the fourth place with 18 points, nine points behind leaders Ahly who have one match in hand.

The result leaves Aswan in second from bottom with 7 points and a lot of doubts surrounding the future of coach Magdi Abdel-Ati.
