The Greek Giants released a statement on Friday night, saying: “Olympiacos FC announces that Ahmed Hassan and Bruno Felipe will miss the training sessions because they had some complications due to recent infection COVID-19.”

The rest of the statement added that the duo’s health is very good; however, they will be absent just for precautionary reasons and will return only at the beginning of the new year.

Kouka was an unused substitute in Egypt’s 1-0 victory over Togo two weeks ago but started in their 3-1 victory three days later.

Directly after the game, the Egyptian Football Association released a statement announcing that Kouka’s COVID-19 test result returned positive, joining his national teammates, Mohamed Salah, Mohamed Elneny, Ali Gabr, and Mohamed Sherif.

Two weeks later, He returned back to Greece and was reportedly set to play against Marseille in the UEFA Champions League, however, he failed to make the squad.

Olympiacos lost the game and were knocked out of the competition and now suffered another blow as they are set to lose their Egyptian forward until the end of the year alongside Bruno Felipe.
