Salah wins 3RD PFA Player of the Month This Season

For the third time this season, Mohamed Salah has been voted the PFA Player of the Month, beating teammate Roberto Firmino to the award.

Signing in the summer for an absolute bargain price tag of £37 million, Mo Salah has quickly become one of the most adored players at Liverpool in recent times. His star quality combined with his infectious personality means that he is already a Kop hero.

With 32 goals and 11 assists, it’s fair to say the Egyptian has been a hit on Merseyside and has now won the PFA Premier League Player of the Month award three times this season.

After scoring four goals and providing two assists in the league during February, Salah received 37% of an online poll to win the award. Roberto Firmino came in second with 19% of the vote.

Having won numerous Standard Chartered Player of the Month awards this season and the African Player of the Year award for 2017, it’s safe to say that the Egyptian is enjoying his best run of form so far in his career.

Liverpool are all but through to the Champions League quarter-finals and Salah will be one of the most important players for Jurgen Klopp in the latter stages of the tournament.

Salah actually pointed out last month that the reason for his devasting form is that Klopp has him play closer to the goal than he has previously in his career.

“With the boss here, I play a little bit closer to the goal, more so than at any other club or more than any of my other coaches have asked me to,” Salah told Liverpool’s official matchday programme.

“So I am always in front of the goal to give me the opportunity to score. The manager is always telling me to stay close to the goal in training.”
