FIFA suspend Ibrahim Hassan for five years

FIFA have confirmed a decision to suspend Telecom Egypt football director Ibrahim Hassan for five years.

The former Ahli star received the same ban from the North African Football Association when he was Masri director in December 2008.

Hassan was handed the ban after his misconduct during Masri’s game against OSM Bejaia of Algeria, where he physically insulted the game’s referee.

The North African Association’s decision was approved and recognized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) before FIFA did the same.

In the meantime, the Egyptian FA announced on its official website that Hassan appealed the FIFA’s decision.

Ibrahim and twin brother Hossam have recently announced a desire to stay on at Telecom despite the club’s relegation from the Egyptian Premier League.
