Al-Hadary to Ismaili

Sion goalie Essam Al-Hadari is close to signing for Ismaili, after he agreed terms with Dervishes president Nasr Aboul-Hassan.

The official website of the former Ahli goalie mentioned that he preferred to join Ismaili despite receiving offers from European sides.

Al-Hadari’s ‘desire to get back to Egypt’ was cited as a reason for him to accept the coastal club’s bid.

The Egypt custodian, whose current contract runs out next summer, is set to arrive in Switzerland on Monday in order to open talks with Sion chairman Christian Constantin over the transfer fee.

Al-Hadari was handed a four-month ban by FIFA’s Dispute Resolution Chamber, which was due to begin in August.

However, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) froze the decision upon the 36-year-old’s appeal.
