Al Ahly always on TOP (Ahly vs Petrojet)

The Egyptian Premier League action is back with a crunch top-of-the-table between leaders Ahli and their closest rivals Petrojet.

The game takes place after a scorching month that witnessed Egypt’s failure to reach the World Cup, overshadowed by off-field disputes with Algeria.

Petrojet boss Mokhtar Mokhtar, a former Ahli star, urges supporters of both teams to hold the Egyptian flags as a gesture of loyalty after the World Cup upset.

“Supporters have to express their patriotic sense by backing the national team, regardless of the club they support,” he said.

“But of course we are looking for a win against Ahli and I promised players huge incentives if they succeeded in that.”

Ahli will be without a host of key players in their visit to Suez, including star man Mohamed Abou-Treika, who is facing two months on the sidelines with a foot injury.

Egypt duo Sherif Abdul-Fadil and Mohamed Barakat were also ruled out with respective injuries.

On the other hand, Petrojet could regain the services of their dynamic playmaker Al-Sayed Hamdi after more than a month out.

Hani Hassan and Ahed Abdul-Maguid also return from injury for Mokhtar’s side.

Elsewhere, Ismaili entertain surprise package Military Production, who could break into the top three with a win in Ismailia.

Strugglers Ittihad host Police Union in Alexandria, in an attempt to get out of the bottom zone.

In Hurghada, Gouna take on third-placed Gaish, who are unbeaten since September.
