Serie A side Napoli are set to make a 3million offer for Zamalek playmaker Shikabala regarding a January transfer, according to the player’s agent.
“I will fly to Italy tomorrow to conclude negotiations with Napoli. An official bid shall be made very soon,” agent Ahmed Soweilam Said
“We are talking about a huge number here. The fee exceeds EGP 25million.”
Shikabala, whose contract with Zamalek runs out in June 2011, is currently with the Egypt squad set to take part in the African Cup of Nations.
Settled
Earlier this week, some Italian reports claimed that Napoli scouts will be present in Angola to watch the 24-year-old with the national team.
However, Soweilam insists that the two-time Italian champions have already made their decision to acquire the services of Shikabala.
“Napoli are already settled in signing Shikabala, regardless of his participation in the Nations Cup,” the agent added.
“Zamalek will receive an offer before Egypt’s first match against Nigeria next week.”
Shikabala spent two seasons in Greece with PAOK Saloniki before his Europe spell came to an abrupt end in 2006 due to a legal dispute with Zamalek.
The midfield wizard scored two goals for the White Knights so far this term and is considered a key member of Hossam Hassan’s selection.
