Watch video: Egypt in the Final 8, Gedo scores again!

Egypt eased to the African Cup of Nations quarter-finals with a 2-0 victory over Mozambique in Benguela on Saturday.

An own-goal from former Ismaili defender Dario Khan and a superb strike from the on-fire Mohamed Nagi ‘Geddo’ sealed the victory for the defending champs.

Egypt are guaranteed top spot in Group C with six points from two games, while Mozambique are bottom with a single point.

Hassan Shehata replaced holding midfielder Hossam Ghaly with playmaker Shikabala to increase firepower, while no other changes have been made to the side that beat Nigeria.

The Pharaohs took the lead just after the break when Dario Khan inadvertently converted an Ahmed Fathi cross into his own net.

And in the final 10 minutes Mohamed Gedo sealed the win after hitting a volley from the edge of the box.

The victory gave the Pharaohs a maximum six points to secure their place in the quarter finals.
