Egypt v Mozambique (18:30)
There is no such thing as a walkover at the African Cup of Nations, as Gabon showed when they beat Cameroon.
Mozambique definitely have the right to think they can get something out of this game, especially after their amazing comeback against Benin.
Coming back from two goals down showed great character but, and this is what I think gives them the edge, Egypt never underestimate the so-called smaller’ teams.
The Pharaohs are probably the only team in Africa who can play below par and still win tournament matches.
If they need a point they will play at 60 per cent of their capacity, and get their point.
They will not take a win for granted though – Mozambique showed more going forward in the last 45 minutes of the 2-2 draw with Benin than Ivory Coast, Nigeria and Cameroon showed in three full matches, combined.
Maybe this is a tournament for the underdogs, maybe someone can get to the final or even win it? I cannot see Egypt losing though. They should get at least a draw, cruise against Benin and make the quarter finals.
