Petrojet eased their woes by reaching the Egyptian Cup quarter finals after beating second-division side Canal Mooring & Lights 2-0 on Wednesday.
Ghanaian attacking midfielder Cofie Bekoe opened the scoring after seven minutes with an easy tap in at the far post after the keeper misjudged a cross.
Canal Mooring & Lights defender Alaa Al-Ghoul scored a bizarre own goal in the 57th minute to kill off his side’s hopes.
He tried to chest a cross into the keeper’s hands but miscommunication resulted in the ball finding the net.
