Ahmed Fathi and Sayed Moawad gave Ahly a will deserved 2-0 win over Petrojet as the Cairo gaints pulled level on points with Zamalek at the top of the Egyptian Premier League.
Ahmed Fathi opened the scoring and Said Moawad wrapped up the victory as Ahly won their eighth game in 10 matches.
Al Ahly had to play with ten men after midfielder Ahmed Hassan was sent off for collecting two yellow cards but that didn’t stop the red devils from taking over the game.
The Cairo giants, who are chasing their seventh consecutive league triumph, moved level on 49 points with arch-rivals Zamalek, who lie at the top due to their goal difference.
