Report: Yehia El-Komy Ismaily’s president resigns!

Yehia El-Komy

Ismaily’s new president Yehia El-Komy has resigned from his post  in protest at the current “wrong” circumstances in the coastal club since he took the post 16 days ago.

“We [president and board members] agreed to quit together but they retired before me to embarrass me,” El-Komy told an Egyptian Newspaper.

The Ismailiya-based club is facing a financial crisis due to lack of funding. The players haven’t received their last season’s bonuses and their star midfielder Hosny Adb-Rabou may cancel his contract with the club and the players joined his protest in the training with a support with the new technical staff under coach Hossam Hassan.

“I was about to pay half of the players’ bonuses today but I was shocked with the board members’ retirements so I decided to leave too. I wasn’t welling to lead the club again and I’ve been through many complications since I took the post. The work atmosphere is not healthy at all.” El-Komy said.

Hosny AbdRabou might leave Ismaily

The Egypt midfielder signed a new three-year deal with Ismaily but said he could annul the contract after Ismaily failed to fulfill their financial obligations towards him despite the appointment of wealthy businessman Yehia El-Komy as the new chairman.

“We do not mind signing Abd-Rabou, but he has to adhere to our conditions over financial issues and the length of the contract,” Youssef said on Zamalek’s official website on Monday.

Reports also suggest that big-spending Masry and Egyptian champions Ahly are interested in signing Abd-Rabou, who was voted the best player in Egypt’s 2008 African Cup of Nations triumphant campaign.
