The tussle for the Group A leadership will reach its apex when Wydad Athletic of Casablanca host Al Ahly on Sunday.
WAC have so far recorded four points at home with a four nil demolishing of MC Alger and a 2-2 draw against Esperance of Tunis. On their part, Ahly have picked up just a point on the road with a goalless stalemate against MC Alger in the fourth round. A victory for WAC keep them in the driving seat with nine points and one leg into the semi final before their last game against MC Alger. On the other hand, Ahly can leapfrog WAC with a victory before their final day clash against Esperance of Tunis.
Al Ahly have no option but to beat Wydad Casablanca in Morocco to avoid possible Champions League elimination, according to coach Manuel Jose.
