Egypt Olympic are set to face against Niger in the final 2012 African Cup of Nations qualifier today to prepare for their 2012 London Olympics qualifiers.
Ahmed Hassan is the only senior team member taking part in a match seen as preparation for the Olympic qualifiers.
“We will make use of the Niger game as it will be a good preparation for the Olympics qualifiers,” Ramzy was quoted as saying on the CAF official site.
“I ask all the Egyptian supporters to crawl to the Cairo stadium to back the young players before starting the group stage of the Olympics qualifiers,” Hani Ramzy added.
Egypt captain and Zamalek’s new signing, midfielder Ahmed Hassan, was the only senior team player to take part in the Pharaohs’ squad for the Niger match.
Hassan, who was Ramzy’s Egypt teammate in the late 1990s and early 2000s, has 176 international caps, just two short of the record held by former Saudi Arabia keeper Mohamed Al-Deayea.
