Ahly will be looking to recover quickly from a surprise draw with struggling outfit El-Entag El-Harby when they host Alexandria-based club Smouha in the Egyptian Premier League on Saturday.
The Red Devils, who were in a buoyant mood after putting in a superb display in the 2-1 friendly defeat by German giants Bayern Munich, failed to overcome El-Entag despite creating several clear-cut opportunities after the break in Wednesdays 1-1 draw.
They consequently missed out on the chance of moving top as they remained second in the 19-team league table on 27 points, one behind surprise package Harras El-Hodoud.
They are likely to face a stiff test against Smouha, who registered their first win under coach Shawky Gharib in superb fashion, coming from behind to stun Ismaily with a late 2-1 victory.
