Friendlies scheduled for February cancelled, announcement of squad for Central African Republic match delayed following 74 deaths at match in Port Said.
Egypt has cancelled friendlies against Kenya and Botswana scheduled for February following the Port Said football disaster that killed 74 people last week.
Coach Bob Bradley has also postponed the announcement of his squad for the 2013 African Cup of Nations qualifier against the Central African Republic on 29 February.
Bradley was due to announce the squad on 8 February prior to the start of a closed training camp, but these plans have been put on hold following the disaster.
All football activities in the country have been suspended and members of Egypt’s Football Association have stepped down.
Egypt, winners of three-successive African Cup of Nations titles, are absent from this year’s tournament, which is currently taking place in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
