Egypt 0-0 DR Congo | Match Review

Egypt draw with the Democratic Republic of Congo in their last friendly game in Qatar on Friday

A second-string Egypt side wrapped up their training camp in Qatar with a 0-0 draw against DR Congo on Friday.
The Pharaohs, who are without the players of Cairo duo Ahly and Zamalek, dominated the majority of the game but could not find the breakthrough, missing out on a third consecutive friendly victory in Qatar, having crushed Kenya 5-0 and beaten Niger 1-0 in their previous two games.

Harras El-Hodoud forward Ahmed Hassan Mekky came close to putting Egypt ahead seven minutes before the break but his header was saved by DR Congo keeper.

Egypt started their friendlies by smashing Kenya 5-0 and defeated Niger 1-0 in the second game but they failed to march on as they held 0-0 to Congo in the third match.

American coach Bob Bradley injected fresh blood into the team after the break but they could only manage tame shots that failed to trouble DR Congo.

The seven-time African champions held a training camp in Qatar due to security concerns in Egypt following the Port Said disaster which left 74 fans dead and scores injured following the end of an Egyptian Premier League game between Masry and Ahly on 1 February.
