A second-half strike from Mauritanian forward Dominique Da Silva gave Egyptian champions Al Ahly a 1-0 victory over UAEs Ahly Dubai 1-0 in a friendly game.
The Cairo giants, who were undone by Kuwaits Shabab 3-2 in another friendly few days ago, had keeper Sherif Ekrami to thank for producing a string of superb saves to slightly improve the Reds morale for the first time following the Port-Said disaster.
Manuel Joses men looked off color during the game until Dominique, who was introduced as a second-half substitute, notched the sole goal of the game with his left foot after being sent through by Sayed Moawad.
But it was the last touch of the game for the injury-prone Dominique, who was forced off after receiving a knock while on his way to score.
