Arab Contractors FC have officially agreed to sell their promising forward Mohamed Salah to Swiss heavyweights FC Basel.

Mohamed Salah has already successfully undergone the requisite medical and technical tests with Basel.

The 20-year-old is one of Egypt’s hottest prospects and FC Basel are reportedly considering him a natural replacement for Swiss midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri, who will join German giants Bayern Munich next season.

Salah led the U-20 team to the bronze medal at the African Youth Championship last year before helping the U-23 side qualify for the 2012 Olympic Games for the first time since 1992.

That impressive performance earned the talented player a place in the Pharaohs’ senior squad recently under the helm of American coach Bob Bradley.

The player expressed his delight for the transfer and Basel’s warm welcome saying “I appreciated the incredible welcome. It is like a dream has come true for me,” Salah told the club’s official website in an interview Tuesday.

“Egyptians expect that I will be a star in the Swiss league,” added Salah who also stressed he will work hard to get better and also please the club’s supporters.
