Egyptian forward Mohamed Zidan returned to goal-scoring form to help Mainz to a 4-0 home victory over Cologne in the German Bundesliga on Tuesday.
Polish midfielder Eugen Polanski put Mainz ahead when he converted a penalty after 20 minutes.
Zidan, making his first start in three games, doubled the lead 11 minutes later with a neat first-timer from inside the area after Nicolai Muller headed a cross into his path.
It was his first goal since finding the net in Mainz’s 2-1 victory over Nurnberg on 10 March.
The win put Mainz in 11th place in the 18-team Bundesliga table with 36 points from 30 matches.
